The Inaugural Donnie Fraser Memorial Trophy Golf Day 2017
The inaugural Donnie Fraser Memorial trophy golf day took place at Castle Stuart Golf Links on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
It was a poignant day coming just after the one year anniversary of the passing of the much-loved Korrie founder and there was a brilliant turnout of 18 teams of four in tribute of the great man.
Korrie Kauses organised the day raising vital funds for the Highland Hospice, which was a local charity close to Donnie’s heart.
The day began with a coffee and a breakfast roll before the teams headed off to the practice range in advance of their tee times.
Highland Insurance Brokers had the honour of lifting the Donnie Fraser Memorial trophy with a terrific stableford score of 101. Runners up were the Kingsmills Hotel who came up an agonising one point short with 100 points, AG Contractors came in third with 99 points.
Donnie’s wife Theresa was present for the dinner afterwards, the evening prizegiving and to assist with the charity raffle, while Donnie’s brother John Fraser played as part of the Korrie team.
£6500 was raised on the day for the Highland Hospice and the money goes to helping a number of great causes throughout the local community.
It was an excellent day for all who attended and it is now an event that will become an annual one after the successful day.
