Drumnadrochit Health Centre - Case Study
Plumbing & Mechanical Services
Working with MM Miller, Korrie have supplied and installed a biomass heating system with ventilation and domestic services to the new Drumnadrochit Health Centre. The new £1.5 million facility will bring a range of health and social care services under one roof. The centre will have six consulting rooms and two treatment rooms, as well as a facility for first responders.
Korrie worked with the project team to install a biomass heating system which utilises underfloor heating throughout the facility. A bespoke biomass cabin was designed and built in Inverness and transferred to site upon completion. The self contained plantroom contains a 60kW Herz biomass boiler, buffer vessel and fuel store.
Other services installed included domestic services, sanitaryware, ventilation, fire alarm system and ventilation systems which incorporated heat recovery units. The new centre will benefit from low cost and green heating and hot water throughout the complex. The biomass system will also allow the NHS to claim RHI payments for the next 20 years.
